Things might be blowing up between Married At First Sight’s Stacey Hampton and Hayley Vernon… but that doesn’t mean their respective husbands aren’t fighting.
EXCLUSIVE: Hayley and Michael get too close night of alleged affair
After Michael and Hayley’s illicit affair was exposed, it was confirmed that David Cannon, former boxer, punched Michael Goonan.
“The morning David found out Michael had hooked up with his wife Hayley the night before, he was absolutely ropeable and he went and confronted him about it,” a source told New Idea.
“David is a huge guy, he’s twice the size of Michael and he’s a professional boxer, too – he’s not someone you would want to have an argument with.”
While David seems to be happy that his TV marriage with Hayley is over, we don’t think it came without consequence (or a hurt ego). Shortly after the affair was made public, David used Hayley’s toothbrush to scrub actual poo off a toilet.
The very hot-headed truck driver apparently spiralled out of control, with the insider claiming he was screaming at Michael. He even called him a “gutless dog”.
MAFS executives had to step in to stop the confrontation.
“The producers had trouble pulling him off Michael so one of the girls started yelling out to call the police, but the producers managed to shut the whole thing down.”
After he calmed down David did a piece to camera, “I’m really angry right now. I’m going to stay in my room because if I see Michael again, I will punch his lights out and he will be a pile of dust.”
After the huge ordeal, Michael was so rattled by it that producers decided to send him to a hotel in Paramatta for a few days.
“They never had any security guards at the dinner parties, but after that incident, they brought them in at every one,” the source added.
It was MAFS bride Vanessa Romito who initially broke the news about Michael and Hayley hooking up.
“I swear on my life Hayley and Michael hooked up,” she told New Idea exclusively, saying that Hayley was intent on sleeping with Michael. “It definitely happened.”
Allegedly, it wasn’t even a drunken one night stand.
Vanessa said the pair “hooked up multiple times” and started to develop strong feelings for each other.
