Y’all know Simon Cowell? The sassy British judge that’s on the panel of nearly every talent competition show ever made? Well, he’s out being a messy b*tch and BTS fans have dragged him accordingly.

Oh, and Little Mix is royally p*ssed off too.

Here’s the low-down.

Simon is currently working on a show that will be in direct competition with Little Mix’s new series, and in case he wasn’t done p*ssing people off, the show is meant to create a new genre of music to rival K-pop.

So how did we get here?

Simon had been planning on a show called X Factor All Stars, which was planing on bringing back past X Factor winners like Leona Lewis. However, in a recent interview with The Sun Simon revealed that the show had been axed in favour of a new competition: X Factor The Band

X Factor The Band – premiering in 2020 – is all about creating the next musical group and is literally the exact same premise for Little Mix’s new show The Search.

Here’s the tea: Little Mix’s management had originally asked Simon to coproduce The Search, only for Simon to turn it down and create his own show.

Now both parties have had a “fallout”, The Search’s premiere date has been bumped up, and Simon is stoked he’ll be going head to head with the girl group.

“It a hundred percent makes it more exciting, there being a battle,” he said.

It’s real messy up in here.

Now we’re going to move to a different pool of angry people: BTS fans.

When talking about X Factor The Band, here’s what Simon said: “K-pop is ruling the world. This is a show to find a band to launch UK-pop.

“It’s more than winning a record contract, it’s starting a new music wave.”

While Simon didn’t actually bring up BTS you can see why the fans are mad. With ‘UK-pop’ the judge is essentially creating the same uber-successful genre of music but for English listeners, which is is not only white-washing a Korean musical genre but also ignoring the fact that pop groups do in fact exist in England.

They’re just called ‘pop’.

As could be expected, the BTS army is hella mad on Twitter.
