Back in 2016, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Israel Broussard, who plays Josh, tweeted some insensitive messages about the general political climate in the United States. He also liked tweets in support of Trump’s travel ban and tweets that went against the Black Lives Matter movement.
Following intense backlash, Broussard issued a statement apologising for offending people, taking full responsibility for his actions.
Now, Lana Condor, who played main character Lara Jean in TATBILB, has spoken out regarding her co-stars tweets in a recent interview with Elle magazine.
Condor said: “It’s very, very, very disappointing. And hurtful. Particularly for all the obvious reasons. The things he said are totally and completely wrong and upsetting,” and that, “I hope that he learns from this and grows to be a better person. I couldn’t imagine him not being better.”
