It’s a big call, we know, but the first extended trailer for The CW’s new Archie Comics spin-off has just been released, and it’s exactly what all our streaming services have been missing.

We love Riverdale and adore 13 Reasons Why but let’s be real, there’s been a real lack of teen-drama that isn’t about murder, mystery and the ~supernatural~ since Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl.

WATCH: The Katy Keene extended trailer gives us a deep look into the new show that rivals everything else on our screens right now!

Lucy Hale, whom we know and love from Pretty Little Liars is our Katy Keene, an aspiring fashion designer in New York City.

TVLine reports that the show will follow Katy and her friends who are struggling to ~make it~ in New York City. One of these friends will be aforementioned Josie (Ashleigh Murray), who leaves Riverdale to move to NYC to in the hopes of making her musical dreams come true.

It will be set about five years in the future, which means Josie will be in her early twenties, not still in high school.

President of The CW, Mark Pedowitz explained to TVLine, “Katy Keene actually takes place years after Riverdale High School. So, at the moment, there are no plans to do crossovers. And, if any of those Riverdale characters should come to Katy Keene, they will come as an older self.”
