Girlfriend faves Joey King and Sydney Sweeney are about to star in two new horror films coming to Amazon Prime this October.
Blumhouse is an upcoming horror film anthology featuring four different films—The Lie, Black Box, Evil Eye and Nocturne—and the likes of Joey King (The Kissing Booth 2), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: The Next Level). And it looks damn near terrifying.
According to the video description to the trailer below, King stars in The Lie, a movie that sounds very adult and mature compared to her previous works. The film follows a teenage daughter (King) who confesses to impulsively killing her best friend and her two desperate parents (Mireille Enos and Peter Sarsgaard) who attempt to cover up the horrific crime. The movie is written and directed by Veena Sud, produced by Alix Madigan-Yorkin, Christopher Tricarico, and Jason Blum, executive produced by Howard Green, Kim Hodgert, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson and Aaron Barnett.
Sweeney and Iseman star in Nocturne, an eerie thriller about a “timid music student who begins to outshine her more accomplished and outgoing twin sister when she discovers a mysterious notebook belonging to a recently deceased classmate.” The movie marks writer and director Zu Quirke’s breakout feature debut, and is executive produced by Jason Blum, Lisa Bruce, Marci Wiseman, Jeremy Gold, Matthew Myers and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly.
Bollywood star and Nick Jonas’s wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, executively produced one of the other films, Evil Eye, which stars an all people of colour cast.
The four Blumhouse films release on the 6th of October on Amazon Prime. In the meantime, we’ll be checking out Lili Reinhart’s film on the service, Chemical Hearts, and try to muster up the courage to watch the trailer below:
