That’s unless you happen to be James Charles!
The beauty YouTuber recently posted a video where he DMed some A-list celebs for their best beauty advice — and they *actually* replied.
Kylie Jenner, Shawn Mendes, Kim Kardashian-West, Rihanna and Millie Bobby Brown all hit James back.
Not only did they share some awesome makeup recommendations, but it’s also a fascinating insight into their texting habits.
First up was Ri Ri, who was adorably humble and excited to be included.
Then, there was Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown, who shared both a product recommendation AND words of encouragement.
Kylie Jenner took it one step further, hooking James up with some new swag!
While her big sis Kim Kardashian-West kept things short but sweet, peppering her messages with an ample amount of exclamation marks!
Last but not least, our imaginary BF Shawn Mendes ghosted James — but was super polite about it in classic Canadian style.
Let’s be real — we’d be stoked to just get a text back from any one of these celebs!
