Jacob Elordi just responded to those people who thought he looked ‘miserable’ in ‘The Kissing Booth 2’

Is Noah the jock actually a sad boy?

We’ve heard of resting bitch face, but apparently Jacob Elordi has ‘resting miserable face.’ It’s exactly what it sounds like and it’s actually Elordi’s defence to fans who think he looked “miserable af” in the recently released sequel to one of Netflix’s most popular films The Kissing Booth.

Elordi and his co-star Joey King had a sweet romance right after the first film was released but broke up before filming of the second film started. While their Noah and Elle characters do spend a lot of The Kissing Booth 2 in a long-distance relationship, it didn’t stop fans on Twitter claiming Elordi looked ~miserable~ because he had to get romantic onscreen with his ex.

“No, no. I have a resting miserable face!” the Elordi told Access. “You know what it is? It’s because I’m usually thinking a lot, like, an insane amount about something ridiculous. I think also, [my character] Noah is a moody dude, you know? He’s a moody guy. He’s not running around [super happy]. I wasn’t miserable, I was tired but not miserable. I had a blast.”

Makes sense! Things happen and you gotta pretend to be in love with your ex, it’s all part of the job and he’s a professional, after all. Elordi also says he was actually just extremely tired from having just filmed Euphoria, the much darker teen television show which also stars his current rumoured girlfriend Zendaya.

“It was cool. I came straight from—literally, I finished Euphoria and then got on a plane and flew to Africa [to film The Kissing Booth 2]. So that was a dramatic shift mentally. But there was a nice calm in going back to [The Kissing Booth] and being able to settle into something I knew how to do and knew what to expect and had friends around, you know?” he explained. “I was so exhausted the entire shoot because I had just come off of eight months of filming then flew however many hours to Africa — I never really woke up. I just got through it.”

Reuniting with his fellow Kissing Booth castmates was also a highlight for Elordi. “It was great, I hadn’t seen them since the first film. There was an excitement going back and doing it. We had all grown up so much, it had been over a year. It was really nice.”

Well, we hope he’s ready for round three because The Kissing Booth 3 has just been confirmed.
