After Euphoria star Jacob Elordi criticised his character Noah back in June, dubbing his on-screen persona as “kind of awful”, fans of The Kissing Booth became extremely worried that this was a sign that Jacob was ditching the sequel.
Following a frenzy of speculation on Twitter, our prayers have been answered as the Aussie actor himself confirmed he will be BACK in The Kissing Booth sequel, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier.
In the promotional clip – that was shared to Netflix’s social media – Jacob seemed stoked to be returning as the iconic teen hottie, wearing an orange racing jumpsuit which can only mean we’ll see Noah in some sort of ‘car racing’ sequence, and we ain’t complaining ’bout it.
As well as being given our first look at some new and spicy characters in the promo, we also know OG’s Joey King and Joel Courtney will be reprising their roles as Elle Evans and Lee Flynn.
Another fun nugget of information Netflix has given us is that the sequel has officially wrapped, meaning we can expect the streaming giant to release The Kissing Booth 2 sometime in 2020.
While we have no idea what’s going to be happening plot-wise, the book sequel is set to come out in January, which could indicate what direction the producers will go in.
If the promo clip is anything to go by, it looks like exes Joey and Jacob aren’t letting their breakup get in the way of having fun on set – which is the kind of positive energy we’re really into seeing TBH.
After meeting on the set of The Kissing Booth, Joey and Jacob began dating, before breaking up in January this year.
Joey has since moved on with The Act producer Steven Piet, while Jacob is rumoured to be dating Euphoria co-star, Zendaya.
