The brand spankin’ new iPhone 8 will be released this September 12, and leading up to it, we’re learning more and more about its new features.
Like, how there will be no home button. At all.
Instead, the entire front screen will be just that – a screen.
Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s tech expert has explained the changes. “Across the bottom of the screen there’s a thin, software bar in lieu of the home button. A user can drag it up to the middle of the screen to open the phone. When inside an app, a similar gesture starts multitasking. From here, users can continue to flick upwards to close the app and go back to the home screen. An animation in testing sucks the app back into its icon.”
The new iPhone 8 will also have face recognition. So the iPhone “knows it’s you… and will unlock with the swipe of a thumb.”
And, sorry to disappoint, but the headphone jack isn’t coming back either. Yikes.
