In January, it was revealed that the Lizzie McGuire reboot was shutting down production because show creator Terri Minsky left.

“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.”
However, we’re now thinking that our protagonist, Hilary Duff, is revealing the real reason all while shading Disney.
This week, it was revealed that the show Love, Simon (which was meant to premiere on Disney+) would be moved to the streaming service Hulu instead.
The show is based on a high school student struggling with his sexuality, which isn’t “family-friendly” enough for Disney+.
Hilary screenshot a news article about the show and put it on her Instagram Story. She wrote, “Sounds familiar….” Does this mean a similar thing happened with the Lizzie McGuire reboot?
Maybe Lizzie McGuire will be moving over to Hulu instead of premiering on Disney+. THAT IS if the show isn’t pulled from production all together!
