In the most recent episode of Riverdale, a lot of sh*t went down. Hal confessed to being the Black Hood, Midge’s mum murdered Fangs and bloody Jughead is like, DEAD (see the proof HERE).
But it turns out that one of the most epic scenes in the episode was inspired by something we’ve all seen before.
Remember how FP Jones carries his son, Jughead, out of the forest? He’s carrying his lifeless body, looking absolutely distraught while doing so. Jughead sacrifices his own life for the greater good.
While we’re sure you’re thinking about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, it’s not actually what the show’s creator was inspired by (aside from the similarities fans have picked up on).
It’s basically the same scene from the movie, when Hagrid carries Harry’s dead body out of the woods after he sacrifices himself to Voldemort.
And while it’s not the scene Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa got inspiration from, let’s hope the same similarity of Harry actually being alive foes for Jughead too.
BUT moving on… where Roberto actually got inspo from was this classic Batman comic.
The image is from an early Batman comic called A Death in the Family, where Robin dies at the hands of the Joker.
Now, with these similarities, it implies that Jughead might actually die. But look, we STILL have some hope even though Cole Sprouse basically confirmed the death himself. RIP our souls.
