The highly anticipated Disney animation Coco was just released in the U.S., and fans were so excited to see it that it beat Justice League, making a huge $71.2 million!
H O W E V E R, people who saw the movie in cinemas were presented with a short Frozen film before Coco came on, titled, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
Sounds promising right? Everyone loves Frozen and Olaf! Well, wrong. It turned out to be quite the horrifying experience for fans.
“Sometimes I wake up covered in sweat and screaming, filled with the horrifying certainty that I’m STILL watching that seemingly endless Frozen ‘short’ that played before Coco,” one fan expressed.
Judging by people’s tweets, it seems that the ‘short’ went for over 20 minutes, with an endless story line that went NOWHERE.
Some people have even pointed out that a Disney movie featuring Mexican and Latinx culture just couldn’t have its moment.
It got so out of hand that Mashable reported there was even a Reddit thread of theatre employees talking about customers complaining that they were playing “the wrong movie.”
But of course, there were some people who didn’t mind it.
Who knew a loveable snowman could cause so much controversy?
