While Pretty Little Liars tried its hand at a spinoff show, The Perfectionists, it’s unfortunately not being renewed for a second season.
Sob.
According to Variety, Freeform is cancelling the show after its 10-episode run.
Deadline also reports that the cancellation comes simply from the show just not being as popular as PLL.

The Perfectionists is based off the book series by the same author as PLL, Sara Shepard, and was produced by showrunner I. Marlene King.
While it followed the original story and characters from PLL, with Sasha Pieterse (Alison DiLaurentis) and Janel Parrish (Mona Vanderwaal) working at Beacon Heights University, the mystery just wasn’t as intoxicating as “who killed Alison?” from the OG series.
The show also starred Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Eli Brown, Graeme Thomas King, Hayley Erin, and Kelly Rutherford.
As expected, fans were devastated over the show’s cancellation. ESPECIALLY because it ended with many unsolved mysteries.
Who killed Nolan? Who is ‘The Professor?’ We can all just assume someone had a twin out there causing all the drama (triggered).
Many of the cast members have taken to social media after the news broke.
“Onward and upward 🤙🏻,” wrote Janel, looking unbothered in a bikini.
She and Sasha had a cute exchange on Twitter.

Sasha wrote a lengthy goodbye to her character, who she has portrayed for ten years. “Ali, you and me have sure been through a lot,” she wrote. “I want you to know how proud I am of how much you’ve grown. Your perseverance and fierce personality has and will always be with me. I know you are finally happy at home with Em and the kids. Kiss them for me!”
I. Marlene King wrote a tearful goodbye too, saying: “PLL will always be a giant part of me, my family and a lot of you. We’ll carry our journey with us as we move onto new adventures, big and small, always with pride, love of our craft, and this amazing family we have built.”
It’s a sad day for the PLL world! We think this calls for a rewatch of the entire series.
