Last week, we were forced to watch treated to a musical episode of Riverdale.
Some people loved it so much that there is even a Spotify playlist with all the songs performed.
While we saw some epic duets and numbers from the cast members, fans were pretty annoyed that a song between Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz – “You Shine” – was cut from the episode.
How dare they do that to #Choni fans.
Thankfully, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa heard the fans please. So, right before last night’s episode aired, he dropped the deleted scene onlune.
THANK YOU.
While it’s fantastic and we’re so grateful for him posting it, fans are still annoyed that #Choni are getting like no time on air. The pair filmed a scene where they defined their relationship as girlfriends, and it was CUT.
Pls Riverdale people, don’t disregard the importance of LGBTQ representation!
As for the whole musical thing, we might be blessed with another one soon…. yay….
“We would absolutely do a musical again,” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Variety recently. “Every high school does a musical every year. So I think it would be finding the right [one].”
He just needs to find the right one. “We got really lucky [with the previous episode] — Carrie felt like it slotted in perfectly and these stories felt like they docked perfectly,” he added. “The bar is really high but 100% we would do it again. I think everybody had a blast doing it.”
