Earlier today, Ed Sheeran fans were left stunned by the news that he had cancelled his Asia tour dates and cast doubt on whether or not he would continue with the remainder of the tour after being hit by a car.
Now, Frontier Touring have released an official statement to assure the public that at this time it looks like the Aussie tour dates will still go ahead.
The statement posted to the company’s social media reads:
“As the Australia and New Zealand leg of Ed Sheeran’s tour does not commence until March 2018, we have no reason to believe that the shows here will be affected.
We’re sure by March Ed will be fighting fit and incredibly excited about having the use of both his arms again. Rest up Ed – no more bicycles for you!”
So that sounds promising!
But unfortunately, it is still unlikely that the shows from now until the end of the year will happen following this morning’s statement:
“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” Ed wrote via Instagram.
“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.”
“I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details.”
