There’s no denying Ed Sheeran is a romantic, writing the world’s sweetest love songs and making women all over the world swoon, before proposing to his childhood sweetheart.
When the singer was spotted wearing a ring on his wedding finger last month, many assumed he and his fiance Cherry Seaborn had secretly wed.
But Ed revealed he’s not yet a married man and that the ring is actually an engagement ring, made out of clay by his future wife.
“I’m not married,” he said on the red carpet when quizzed by a reporter.
“I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings. It’s the same commitment either way. Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay. I really like it. I haven’t told anyone that, either.”
In a separate red carpet interview with Sky News, Sheeran further explained the ring. “It’s an engagement ring, because I feel like…I don’t know,” he said with a shrug. “I feel like it’s good to both do things.”
The couple, who are keeping details of their wedding a secret, revealed their engagement on Instagram in January: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” Ed wrote. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”
Let’s all aim to be a little more like Ed.
