Dominic Sherwood, aka Shadowhunters BABE Jace, and Sarah Hyland‘s boyfie, is currently visiting us down under, and he sat down exclusively with Girlfriend to reveal all the juice that goes down in last few eps of the show.
Any spoilers for what’s coming in the last few eps of season 2?
“Heartache for Jace and for the fans in the most literal and emotional sense. Jace doesn’t have an easy time of it in this series. Not that he ever gets an easy time. It’s always been pretty terrible for Jace. He’s been to hell and back, but just wait, it’s going to get a lot worse. It gets as bad as it can get for a person for Jace. The writers keep telling me it’s going to get even worse. I don’t know how but apparently it’s going to.”
NERVOUS!

What’s going on with Jace and Clary… surely a relationship is coming… right?
“Not in the conventional sense, no. Clary and Jace have some hardships to work through definitely and their feelings are more exposed than they’ve ever been before. They’re both now aware of their feelings for each other. Jace’s feelings always have been, but Clary’s are as well now and she has to come to terms with her feelings. We’ll see bits of romance. Bits, but that’s all we’re going to get for now.”
Please… our patience is running thin.

What’s your favourite storyline so far?
“Jace’s relationship with Valentine has been some of my most favourite parts to film. I think that’s partly working with Alan because he’s an incredible actor but also the character of Valentine is so fascinating because he’s a villain but he has this love for Jace as well which is confusing, because Jace desperately wants a father but he wants it not to be him because there’s that closeness there. That storyline will keep going and there’s something big coming at the end of this season, which I’m not allowed to talk about yet but I’m busting to.”
WE ARE BEYOND KEEN!
But, aside from being a mega-star on the show, there’s more to him. Like, how he is good friends with the one and only Taylor Swift. He reveals to us how he came about appearing in her music video for “Style”.
“I had just finished a movie called Takedown that I filmed with Phoebe Tonkin and Ed Westwick and I wasn’t really doing anything. I was sitting in my apartment and Taylor texted me – I’d known her for a few years at that point – and she said ‘hey would you ever be interested in doing a music video’ and I said ‘yeah well maybe, it depends who it would be for’ and she said ‘it would be for me’ and I said ‘well yeah when can I be there. I’ll be there now if you want me there now!’”
Just casually, lol.
But don’t go thinking he’s too busy hanging out with his famous friends to not binge-watch Netflix like the rest of us.
His approach to TV is basically all of us.
“I’ve been watching a show called Archer, which is funny. It’s on Netflix. It’s a good fun show. 13 Reason’s Why is next on my list. I just binge watched AHS as well. I watched four seasons back to back. Freak Show was my favourite because I love Finn Wittrock who played Dandy, I think he was incredible. He’s an amazing actor. I’m so captivated by him. It’s tough because I do most of my watching on the plane but I get quite cry-ie on airplanes because of the altitude but I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t watch that one on the plane because I’ll end up crying the whole time.”
CRY-IE!
Cannot deal.
