Just as news has broke that Liam Hemsworth is happily moving on from his ex-wife Miley Cyrus, her new boyfriend, 22-year-old Cody Simpson has dropped a bombshell.

The Australian singer has implied that he and Miley have had a romantic connection for way longer than the public thinks, which we can assume is going to cause some problems.
People reports that Cody got candid about his relationship with the “Slide Away” singer on Friday, admitting:
“I’m very happy. We are very, very happy. She’s creative. She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense.
“That’s why we get along so well. We just have a ball, yeah, and that’s the most important part of a relationship, you know? The reason why it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we’ve been friends for so long…[we] found each other again in a space where we’re both not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy and it’s good.”
It definitely sounds like the pair had been in contact for a very long time, and while we don’t like to throw around allegations, there might have been some “emotional cheating” going on behind the scenes.
He also claims that his relationship with Miley is unlike any he’s ever had before… which is a slight stab at Simpson’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
“Any girlfriends I’ve had in the past has always been immediate romance and so it’s a different experience having been friends with somebody before and it developing naturally into something more.”
To define “developing naturally” for Cody, it’s falling head over heels with Miley the weeks following not only her divorce, but her break up from Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter.
In a nutshell, Cody has:
- Become Instagram official
- Admitted to being in love
- Written a poem
- Written a song/serenaded her multiple times
- Nursed Miley through a hospital stay when she was admitted with tonsillitis
- Converted her from being ‘gay’ (her own joke)
After releasing an initial statement, he sent himself home to Byron Bay to recoup. Since his new relationship with Australian actress Maddison Brown has become public, we can see why he might want to stay. However, the pair were recently spotted in public while in NYC together.
TMZ photographed Liam on a date with Maddison over the weekend, taking her on a romantic stroll and for dinner in NYC’s West Village neighborhood on Thursday.
Maddison stars in the reboot of the drama Dynasty as Kirby Anders daughter of the Carrington family’s butler Joseph Anders (Alan Dale).

Appearing on The Zach Sang Show, Maddison revealed she’s attracted to Liam’s older brother Chris during a game of “F***, Marry, Kill”.
Brown was asked to choose between fellow Aussie actress Margot Robbie, Hugh Jackman, and Liam and Chris Hemsworth.
“I’m gonna kill Hugh Jackman,” she said. “Gonna get that one right off the table. I’m gonna marry Margot Robbie because I’d like to f— her for life.”
“I’d be like, ‘You are too attractive, you are never allowed to leave the house!’” she concluded.
Fans are super happy that Liam has found happiness again.
According to a report from Us Weekly, Liam doesn’t think his broken marriage gives him an excuse to hold anything against Miley.
“He wants what’s best for her — even if it’s not him,” an insider revealed to the publication.
