While Harry Styles fans were ~*delighted*~ when our bae was cast in upcoming war flick Dunkirk, arty farty film buffs were not pleased at all with Christopher Nolan for choosing a mainstream singer.
*cue the eye rolls of Directioners everywhere*
But any angry critics can STFU now ‘cos *apparently* old mate Chris actually had no idea just how famous Harry was until filming began.

In a new interview with AP, the esteemed director admitted that he wasn’t aware of Harry’s stardom until his daughters pointed it out to him bc DUH!
“I don’t think I was that aware really of how famous Harry was,” he said.
“I mean, my daughter had talked about him. My kids talked about him, but I wasn’t really that aware of it.”

Touching on the Harry h8 that we mentioned earlier, Christopher defended his choice to cast the heartthrob.
“So the truth is, I cast Harry because he fit the part wonderfully and truly earned a seat at the table.”
Harry’s co-star Mark Rylance added that his 11-year-old niece was also super excited which clued him in to what a big friggen’ deal Harry is.
“She was just more excited than anything I’ve ever done because I was going to be acting with Harry Styles… I went up in her estimation. I won the Harry!” he said.
Okay, so we’re glad that they’re finally aware that Harry is a shining angel from heaven and we’re all unworthy of his presence.
The end.
