13 Reasons Why bae Christian Navarro is in talks to play Prince Eric for the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and someone pls hand us our Ventolin because we’re about to hyperventilate.
Christian Navarro, who portrays Liberty High’s angel Tony Padilla in Netlfix’s forever controversial 13 Reasons Why is currently fighting for the role of Prince Eric – and fans are losing their damn minds over the news.
Because it’s 2019, we first heard about Navarro wanting to portray hot boy Eric via Twitter when the man himself revealed he was 100% keen if Disney were.

“So I heard Harry Styles passed on Prince Eric, well…I can sing. Black Ariel/Latino Prince…no ones called but Season 3 drops next week and I think it’s one hell of an audition.”
I mean…we’re into it.
Although the original tweet was probs just a joke, it turns out Disney sat up and listened with Christian confirming they have since reached out.
Needless to say, Twitter is behind the idea of Christian playing Prince Eric after the bitter disappointment that was the short-lived Harry Styles casting (still not recovered).
Well, Disney, the internet has spoken, Give us a Latino Prince Eric (pls and thank u).
It’ a very welcome update after Harry Styles got everyone’s hopes up, only to have them CRUSHED mere hours after the news broke.
While he was formally offered the part, the 25-year-old musician reportedly turned down the role in the musical, where he would have starred opposite Halle Bailey, The Wrap reported.
The former One Direction band member was a fan-favourite to play the role of Prince Eric since news of Disney’s live-action remake was announced, with that jaw-line, hair, and voice. He was the ideal candidate.
Whoever is chosen for Prince Eric, whether it be Christian or not, will star with Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Melissa McCarthy as the villainess Ursula.
