It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since we were first blessed with the glory that is One Direction.
But alas, today marks the 9 year anniversary of when 1D first started!
Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson all took the time to celebrate the momentous occasion with fans, sharing their memories on social media.
“9 years… Amazing to look back at all the memories and even now you got us trending worldwide after 9 years. You truly are the best fans in the world,” Liam tweeted.
“9 years!! Can’t thank you all enough for all the support over the years. Love you,” Niall added.
While Liam and Niall focused on his fans, Louis made sure to also give kudos to his former bandmates, tweeting “So many incredible memories. Days like today are days for reflection, so proud looking back! Thank you for ALWAYS having our backs! Big love to the lads!”
Harry Styles and Zayn Malik’s 9-year tributes were noticeably absent — which is hardly surprising, given Zayn left the band on bad terms and Harry has been quiet on socials lately.
Could a 10-year anniversary reunion be on the cards for next year? Only time will tell!
