Dust off your spirit board, boil your potions and start flipping the pages of the Book of Shadows (either by hand or by magic) ‘coz the next generation of Charmed Ones have arrived.
The CW recently announced that a reboot of the witchy ’90s/’00s series Charmed was in the works and they’ve officially found their spellbinding sisters!
Madeleine Mantock (The Tomorrow People) will play eldest sister Macy Pruitt. Macy is described as a “practical” and “brilliant geneticist” who leads her younger sisters as they “tear down the patriarchy.” Just like Prue (the eldest sister of the OG series played by Shannen Doherty), she has the power of telekinesis AKA she can move sh*t with her mind.
Middle sister Mel Pruitt will be played by the gorg Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station). Mel is a strong-willed feminist with the power to freeze time, much like Piper from the original series (played by PLL‘s Holly Marie Combs).
Oh, and did we mention that Mel is a lesbian? Hellz yes to LGBTQIA representation on-screen!
And youngest sister Madison Pruitt will be played by Sarah Jeffrey (Descendants). Madison is a teen student who is super athletic and keen AF to get into a decent college sorority.
Unlike the third child of the original series, Phoebe (played by activist Alyssa Milano), Madi has the power to read minds, also known as telepathy.
And joining the three sister witches known as the Charmed Ones are some v ~charming~ men.
Actor Rupert Evans (Hellboy) will play Harry who is described as “a professor, handsome, grandiose, a raconteur with an infuriating charm and a mysterious interest in the three sisters.”
Harry is a Whitelighter, a guardian angel to witches who helps them hone their magical skills.
And lastly, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle‘s Ser’Darius Blain has been cast as Galvin, who is described as “the ideal boyfriend — funny, mellow, in touch with his emotions, totally on board to follow his lady across the country for her dream job. An aspiring filmmaker, he has yet to catch the break he’s sure is just around the corner.”
Filming is set to start at some point this year with no release date announced as of yet.
So keep stirring that cauldron until we know more!
