“We do everything together. We bought a house together and we’ve travelled together,” says JoJo.

“I actually can’t wait until we get married and I can call her my wife.”

Jojo gushes over Jess, calling her, “beautiful, smart and humble. She completes me in every way. Being with Jess has always felt right. She is talented and has the voice of an angel.”

Jess is ecstatic about her upcoming nuptials to Jojo, saying, “I can’t wait for that proud moment where you tell someone ‘that’s my wife’,” but there is just one problem – Jojo’s parents.

“My parents are strict Lebanese Catholics and they don’t support same sex relationships and definitely not same sex marriage,” explains JoJo. “We want my parents to come to our wedding, we want them to support us.

“But we’re constantly feeling like we’re being judged, and we wish our family could put their pride aside and just see how happy we really are.”

As for Jojo’s father, he is insistent that her union is right: “They’re not to be together. A woman and a woman, it’s not right.”

As for Lody – Jojo’s mother – she says that she wishes she could, but feels her faith permits her from attending: “If they get married, I don’t think I will go to the wedding. I can’t. As much as I love Jess and Joanne, I won’t see them getting married.

“Sorry, I can’t. I can’t go. I will be sinning in front of God and I can’t do it.”
