It’s no secret that Blake Lively didn’t really connect with her Gossip Girl counterpart, Serena Van Der Woodsen.
She has revealed many, many times that she didn’t relate much with her character, and looking back on the show, it makes sense.
Blake is a loving, caring, wonderful women, whereas as much as we adored Serena, she wasn’t always the greatest.

“People loved it, but it always felt a little personally compromising—you want to be putting a better message out there,” she explained in a recent interview with Glamour UK. “When parents would say, ‘My teenager is watching your show,’ I wanted to say, ‘Hold on, why? Are you having a talk with them after?’ From the dr*g use to the point where we’re killing people, it’s sexual and salacious.”
Yikes.
Although it made for good television, we can’t say much about the characters being great role models.
But Blake has also assured fans that it wasn’t alllllll bad.
“I loved it when they put Blair and Serena as best friends supporting each other,” she added.
Those were basically our fave parts too.
Blair and Serena 5eva.
