Billie Eilish is arguably THE voice of Gen Z, so it makes complete sense that her music has the ability to move people to tears, even if said ‘people’ is her own mother.
WATCH: Billie Eilish’s mum cries when she hears her new song
In a new clip released by Beats by Dre, we get taken behind the scenes as Billie and Finneas create her latest single Everything I Wanted, and their mum’s reaction to the new track is the sweetest, purest thing we’ve seen all day.

Firstly, the whole sneak peek we get into the duo’s creative process is a must-watch for fans, and seeing Finneas bang out a tune on the piano almost spontaneously is seriously impressive to watch.
But the best moment comes when Billie calls her mum, Maggie Baird, to excitedly tell her they have finished producing Everything I Wanted.

When Maggie starts listening to the track in the kitchen with Billie she immediately starts tearing up in a truly wholesome moment.
“Everything makes her cry,” Billie jokingly says seeing her mum’s reaction. “Look, she’s literally getting teary!”

When you consider the meaning behind the song, we can totally understand why Maggie got so emotional.
Revealing that the track was initially titled ‘Nightmare’, the track was inspired by a dream that Billie had and focuses on her and Finneas’s relationship.
Billie said: “We decided to make it about our relationship and how we help each other and do things together [and that] completely paved the way for the rest of the song.”
