As you know from season one of Riverdale, Betty had major love-heart eyes for Archie, her best friend and neighbour.
However, Archie was at the time having a fling with Miss Grundy, so he friend-zoned Betty and Jughead stole her heart instead.
Bughead forever!
Now, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has admitted to TVLine that Archie may make his way back into Betty’s heart in season 2.
“For a long time, Archie was what Betty wanted. And I don’t think it’s like a switch being flipped, that that just changes,” Roberto told TV Line. “Now that he’s a little bit older, a little bit wiser, is he like, ‘Wow, I let this really good thing get away’? And is it too late?”
However, he admitted that Veronica and Archie are “pretty great together,” although, “the heart wants what it wants.”
Yikes.
We guess it’s not Toni Topaz that gets in the way of Bughead after all.
