The Last Of Us TV series has found its Ellie: 17-year-old Game of Thrones teen Bella Ramsey.

Ramsey, who is best known for playing the loveable and outspoken ten-year-old Lady of Bear Island and head of House Mormont, Lady Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, has just been confirmed to star alongside The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal in what’s arguably going to be the next big HBO series.
While the pair never met on-set—Pascal’s character, the sexy prince Oberyn, dies in season four, while Ramsey first appears in season six—this is an exciting GoT reunion we can’t wait to see unfold.
HBO’s The Last Of Us Plot
For those unaware, The Last Of Us is a gripping action-adventure by video game developer Naughty Dog for PlayStation consoles, and a game that you’ve seen all of your fave streamers play and cry over. In it, a middle-aged man named Joel is hired to escort Ellie, a 14-year-old girl who they both quickly learn is immune to the virus that’s turned their world into a zombie apocalypse. Per Deadline, it sounds like the HBO TV adaptation will follow a similar story…
“Joel (Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Game of Thrones‘ Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone,” the report reads. “What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”
The report adds that “Pascal’s Joel, tormented by past trauma and failure, must trek across a pandemic-ravaged America, all the while protecting a girl who represents the last hope of humanity.”
It’s unclear whether the limited series will adapt both The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us Part II, but we suspect there’s more than enough content in the first game for a soul-destroying, tissue-buying first season.
Where Have I Seen Bella Ramsey And Pedro Pascal Before?
Pedro Pascal is best known for his role as The Mandalorian in the similarly titled Star Wars show on Disney Plus — aka, the show that gave us Baby Yoda. Elsewhere, he’s recently starred in Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman 1984.
Outside of Game of Thrones, Bella Ramsey played Hilda, the wide-eyed and charming kid adventurer of Netflix’s adorably animated series of the same name, as well as appeared in Netflix’s remake of The Worst Witch. For more on the best teen TV shows to watch in Australia, click here.

HBO’s The Last Of Us isn’t the first big video game to screen adaptation of a PlayStation property. Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland will soon star as Nathan Drake in Sony Pictures’s Uncharted.
