There’s nothing nice about it but for many peeps, it’s something you have to learn to deal with as it can often hang around for a while.

This week’s guest on Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss podcast is Love Island star Tayla Damir.

Tayla revealed her own struggle with acne at the age of 19 and how it knocked her self-confidence.

“I had never had bad skin up until then and all of a sudden I got this extremely bad hormonal break out across my chin area,” she told GF.

“I was so self-conscious, I didn’t want to leave the house, I didn’t want to go to events and it really made me understand what it would have been like going through school and having that kind of bad skin and that self-consciousness every single day.”

This experience taught Tayla to embrace her face without makeup but she also appreciates that others use makeup as a tool to cover their blemishes.

“I think being yourself is important and just because I like showing my freckles, doesn’t mean that everyone wants to do that and if you feel more confident by putting on a lot of makeup because you enjoy doing that, well 100 per cent go ahead,” she said.

“I think it more comes down to what look makes you the happiest and the most confident.”
