So, Anna Kendrick compared being in ‘Twilight’ to a “hostage situation”

“I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘you know this is a really great group of people, and I’m sure we would be friends in a different time, but I want to murder everyone.’”

In a video breaking down her acting career, actress Anna Kendrick shaded her time working on Twilight by likening it to “a hostage situation.” By contrast, in the rest of the video, Kendrick lovingly reflects on every other film and the people she’s had the joy of working with.

The video, published by Vanity Fair, breaks down the Pitch Perfect star’s acting career from her debut film Camp in 2003 to her new TV series Love Life, and, of course, her time on Twilight. The latter of which, may we add, she describes as “cold and miserable” and an experience that had her wanting to “murder everyone” involved.

“The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable,” Kendrick recalled to Vanity Fair. “I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘you know this is a really great group of people, and I’m sure we would be friends in a different time, but I want to murder everyone.’”

“Although it was also kinda bonding, there was something about it that was like you go through some trauma event or a hostage situation and bonding for life…”

Kendrick then forgets what happened in the third film—The Twilight Saga: Eclipse—before admitting she was confused “why they made my character a Valedictorian… she’s very clearly not a good student but they wanted me to have something to do.”

“They all started to blend into one at some point because my whole job was just to be like, ‘this family of pale people we never see eating, they’re really weird right?’ So, I was in the fourth movie [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1], it was just like a wedding scene where, again, I was like, ‘haha, these people are so weird.’”
