We finally have an official premiere date for the next season of the Emmy Award-winning series American Horror Story!

U.S. broadcasting network FX announced on Monday that the creepy ninth season of the hit Ryan Murphy horror series which is titled American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on Wednesday, September 18.
For Australian fans, it will likely be on Thursday, September 19 and potentially air on FOX SHOWCASE just like the previous Apocalypse crossover season.
Unfortunately, resident AHS favourite Evan Peters won’t be back for this season but creator Ryan Murphy did confirm one returning cast member. He revealed that Emma Roberts will be back for another round of spooky shenanigans!

Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy, who recently appeared as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race has also been confirmed to appear in the new season.
The upcoming ninth season which is set in the ’80s will draw slasher flick inspo (think Friday the 13th) if the first look teaser above is anything to go by and it looks completely different to last season’s Murder House and Coven cross-over.
No word yet if queen of playing multiple characters Sarah Paulson will be back.
She did although address the matter to SyFy and revealed that she has no clue.
“I don’t really know the answer to that, all I can say is I know the least about this season upcoming that I’ve known about any season . . . Usually, I have more information at this point, and I’m bugging Ryan with questions. Right now, I don’t have a lot” she dished.
Fingers crossed she does return!
