Could you imagine anyone other than Katherine Langford playing Hannah Baker in 13 Reasons Why?
No, neither could we.
However, it may surprise you that it was somebody in the 13RW family that nearly became the central character… Alisha Boe!
As we know, Alisha plays Jessica Davis, but she initially auditioned for Hannah.
Talking to W, Alisha revealed that she didn’t at first connect with Jessica either.
“When they asked me to audition for Jessica, I disconnected with it,” Alisha said. “She’s supposed to be a pretty, popular teenager, and in my head, just from being brainwashed from all these breakdowns growing up, it’s a blonde girl with blue eyes.”
She’s praised the show for being so inclusive though, saying, “It was my first time being able to be separated from being someone’s best friend, or being the butt of the joke, or an accessory. It was a dream come true for me. I didn’t expect it to come that fast.”
