Last week fans lost it (guilty) when it was announced that Ed Sheeran had proposed to his long-time partner Cherry Seaborn.
While the news broke via Aussie actor, Russell Crowe during an appearance on Nova's breakfast radio program, Fitzy & Wippa – it appears it was a false alarm!
At the time, the legendary actor referred to Sheeran’s girlfriend as his "fiancée."
"We became friends through people we know and he was on tour and came to stay," he said.
"We just became friendly and he has since come back with his fiancée for more time and stuff."
GOOD ONE, RUSTY.
But on Tuesday May 30, the radio hosts took to their show to clarify the situation.
“We didn’t even pick this up when we spoke to Russell Crowe,” Fitzy said on air.
However the announcers played a recent interview Sheeran undertook in Brazil – where he’s currently touring – and when the journalist asked him about the supposed engagement he did not hold back.
“No, we’re not engaged,” Sheeran confirmed.
In regards to Crowe, the Shape Of You singer said: “Yeah he emailed me about it to say sorry. You know he’s only met Cherry once so… I didn’t introduce her I didn’t say anything so I think he just assumed.”
We guess that's all, folks...
