After Dove shared her #TimesUp post on Instagram, she gained an abundance of support from her fans.
"Such a deep honor to have my first year at the @goldenglobes be one where i get to wear black and stand with some of hollywood’s strongest women in support of the #timesupmovement. the energy i felt was unparalleled, incomparable, and so deeply touching. an electric shock to the heart. a day i’ll never forget. i am truly humbled," she wrote.
However one user took the time to explain how boring they found the talk of racism and feminism at the Golden Globes.
They wrote, "All the feminism and racism talk ruined the Golden Globes. I was watching it for the awards ffs."
Someone then replied, "ok... too bad, so sad." The original commenter then replied, "of course you wouldnt mind since ur black."
Uh-uh honey, that's when Dove stepped in.
"How horrible, to say something like that to any one at all. so insensitive, so selfish, and so inappropriate. i usually don't reply to people who are clearly MASSIVELY under an average level IQ, but i was so personally offended by what you said, that i couldn't let it slip by. you need to take a lesson or two in compassion and perspective. 'of course you wouldn't mind since you're black.' please take a look at yourself. you have something ugly and dark inside of you. spread love and support, not hate and ignorance. i wish you pease, clarity, and a firm slap in the face from life. night."
After Dove responded, the original commenter @eagles76ers changed their handle to @dovecameronisahypocrite...
