Dixie D’Amelio shares what it’s like to move out of home

Dixie D’Amelio shares what it’s like to move out of home

Dixie D’Amelio is opening up about her experience moving out of her parents’ home.

In a recent episode of her and sister Charli D’Amelio’s podcast, 2 Chix, the 19-year-old singer and TikTok star addressed some recent big changes in her life. Namely, that she’s now living out of home and in her own place.

“Living alone is really fun, but at the same time, it’s scary because it gets so quiet,” Dixie said. “I have no one to talk to, but also I like that. I don’t know how I feel about it.”

“I think also, once I get all my stuff together… I’m just very anxious being home ’cause my place is a mess, because I don’t have anywhere to put anything, but once I get that figured out, it’s going to be a lot easier I think.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, her younger sister Charli admitted she “did not think” Dixie’s decision was “okay,” but “finally got to see her new little apartment and it’s beautiful,” even if she apparently doesn’t “get invited over that much.”

“I invite you over all the time and you’ve only come once, so that’s your fault,” Dixie responded. “I really don’t want to have anyone over yet because I’m not done moving in. I mean, all my stuff is there, it’s just in boxes and messy.”

And, while we can’t all be Dixie D’Amelio and might not be able to financially support ourselves to live on our own right now, most of us will make the big decision to move out of home at *some * point in our lives. Moving out can be a very stressful time, so it's important to reach out to your friends and support network and be kind to yourself.
