"I was at work and I was coming into having my break and I just like, get tagged in it [the article on social media] and its like 'breaking news'," she said. "I'm like, no way. No, I don't know where that's coming from. It's hilarious. No, I didn't know Matt at all. Oh my gosh."
Network 10 echoed a similar sentiment with a spokesperson claiming: This story is completely false. Matt and Elly did not know each other prior to filming 'The Bachelor'."
Bachie fans were left reeling on Wednesday night when Matt stupidly decided to send Elly packing in what could be dubbed the most ludicrous Bachelor episode we've seen to date. The damage he caused was almost palpable, with thousands of furious viewers flocking to Twitter to tear Matt a new one for choosing this year's resident Bachie villain, Abbie Chatfield, over sweet, sweet angel Elly. One of those angry users included none other than former Bachelorette, Georgia Love!
Weighing in on Matt's decision, Georgia— who was once the star of the Channel 10 series — sent a big "f**k you" Matt's way before warning the network to refrain from contacting her about her very red hot Tweet.
"F**K YOU MATT," an angry Georgia wrote. "Don't @me #TheBachelorAu"
It is clear she has a propper issue with Abbie (like the rest of Australia, soz) and later shared a video from the show of the controversial contestant rolling her eyes with the caption, "Me any time Abbie does or says literally anything."
Refusing to mince her words, she followed up with another rogue Tweet of Elly smirking with the caption, "Also me when Abbie tries to make herself cry."
Although most of us are still wondering why Abbie is still in the running to win Matt's heart — considering Monique Morley, Sogand Mohtat and Matt's very own best friend, Kate, have all doubted her motives— Elly believes he's letting their insane sexual chemistry cloud his judgement.
Seeing as every scandal this season was centred around the property analyst— meaning she's guaranteed an insane amount of air time— Elly also reckons Abbie applied the for series in an attempt to boost her notoriety.
"At the time there were comments being made about going on Bachelor In Paradise and Abbie seemed keen. So I questioned whether she was here for the right reasons if she was already thinking about life without Matt on a different TV show," the fan favourite recently dished to a local publication. "She was very vocal about wanting to appear on the program."
Interestingly, Elly isn't the only contestant who has a theory about Abbie overstaying her welcome. Last week, eliminated Bachie star Kristen Czyszek told Yahoo, that although she hasn't made herself a favourite in her fellow contestants' eyes, Matt is yet to see her true colours.
"I think it's really hard to understand people's comments when he (Matt) hasn't seen that side and only experienced wonderful moments with her (Abbie)," Kristen revealed. "Matt knows what he wants and so he's just pursuing what he wants, that's why she's still there."
