Last week, the music video for Demi Lovato's song "No Promises" dropped, and fans were immediately offended at the fact that she had worn dreadlocks.
A long string of angry comments popped up online, accusing the star of cultural appropriation.
Now, Demi has come out and responded to the allegations, tweeting the following:
"They were twists not dreads #relax. BTW they looked f*** rad anyway."
As expected, her response hasn't been received well online.
"I don't think u understand the concept of cultural appropriation. Just keep in mind BPOC have been assaulted 4 that style while u r "trendy," one user wrote.
"queen of dismissing rumours about cultural appropriation," said another.
".....that's not how you should respond to people trying to educate you on cultural appropriation but okay."
Ahhh, this is definitely snowballing...
