Her light prickles weren't the only thing that caused an uproar. Despite the beauty coming from a biracial background with her father being African American and her mother Italian, Hungarian and Irish - several users were quick to note her seemingly darker skin tone.

In spite of the backlash, majority of the comments praised the '11 minutes' singer, including her peer Demi Lovato.
"There so much yes about this picture idk where to start 🙌🏼" the singer commented on the post.
This isn't the first time the 26-year-old rushed to her famous friend's defence. Earlier this year Lovato praised Bebe Rexha for slamming designers who refused to collaborate with her on a Grammy's dress because she's "too big".

Demi, a long time body positivity activist, applauded the artist commenting under her rant video, "F***ing preach!!!" she wrote.
"Love this and you for speaking your mind and using your voice!!!"
