"As of today, images on Plenty of Fish that contain face filters will be moderated and removed,” they said in a statement on their website. “So it’s time to head over to your profile and make sure it’s officially filter-free.”
Apparently, they surveyed over 1000 singles and found that “70% of singles consider the use of [a] face filter to heavily alter someone’s appearance to be deceptive.”
A further 25% answered that they believed using filters made that user insecure about their appearance and hey, we feel attacked RN!
They also asked which filters were their most hated and the dog filter was in the top spot, followed by the bunny with fake glasses (okay, we can understand that one)
The new rules will clearly go a long way in making sure 'Plenty of Fish' won't be known as 'Plenty of Catfish!'
While the dating website is mainly used by the older crowd, it's owned by the same company as Tinder.
