In a statement released by Cadbury today, Caramilk chocolate bars have been "found to contain small, flexible pieces of food grade plastic as a result of a machinery fault during the manufacturing process".
The Caramilk bars containing the plastic may cause minor injury if consumed.
The affected blocks are those with a best before date of 17/01/2019 and 21/01/2019 only.
Anyone who has bought those Caramilk blocks are advised to return it to where they purchased it for a full refund. No receipt is required.
The recall comes after the chocolate has been selling out across Australia, with blocks being auctioned off on eBay for upwards of $20.
The blend of caramel and white chocolate was first on sale in the 1990s, before being discontinued after four years.
