"The Three Amigos & Nacho Libre," he captioned the pic.
After posting the seemingly innocent photo, the backlash from fans rolled in.
"JUST BECAUSE SOME OF YOU ARE NOT OFFENDED DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN SPEAK FOR EVERYONE. THIS IS HORRIBLE BEHAVIOUR AND IT IS OFFENSIVE AND PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO BE UPSET. STOP EXPLOITING LATINX CULTURE."
Woah.
Cameron probably didn't make it any better for himself when he posted videos of himself dressed in the attire, putting on a fake accent...
Some fans came to his defence, claiming that his nationality is part Mexican, but offended fans hit back with, "Him saying he is 15% Hispanic is like people saying they are 1/16th Cherokee. It's not a valid reason to be doing what he just did. This was very insulting. He was making fun of my culture and I will not hand for it. He does not have the right. He needs to take into consideration what he's doing and putting out into the world. Especially because he's well known and looked up to by his fans. He's sending out the wrong messages."
But it wasn't just Cameron who had dressed up, in fact another shot taken by Chris shows it was an entire group of people getting into the spirit of things.
He captioned the pic, "Familia."
It was only a few weeks ago that the same three boys came under fire when they posted a shot of their hair. While on tour, they got braids and a lot of fans found that it was highly insulting to black culture.
Talk about being the kings of controversy.
