Celebrities comment on each other’s Instagrams all the time, but sometimes, we’re gifted an exchange that brings the most random and unexpected of A-listers together. And it’s magical.
Overnight on the ‘gram, Blake Lively shared a sweet throwback snap of herself at a Spice Girls concert in 1997. In the pic, the star pledged her allegiance to Baby Spice (because every fan had a favourite) by dressing up in the singer’s iconic look - think pigtails, a dress with a fluffy hemline and ultra-high platform sneakers.
Next to Blake in the photo is a very young fan, who she has identified in the caption as Bria Madrid - apparently her outfit was so convincing, the young Madrid thought she was the real deal.
Years later, Lively took this opportunity to out herself to Madrid, captioning the image:
“Pretending to be someone else…since 1997 (Thanks @briamadrid for the photo of us at the Spice Girls concert. Sorry – not sorry- I tricked you into thinking I was @emmaleebunton)”
The actress even tagged herself with the Spice Girls official handle. And obviously that move caught Bunton’s eye, because the OG Baby went on to comment on the post:
“So cute, you’re rocking those pigtails @blakelively"
Proving she’s just a teenage fan girl at heart, Lively lost all chill in her response to the comment:
“@emmaleebunton I’m officially ☠️☠️☠️☠️. Forever bowing down to you 💕💕💕 I cannot believe you know who I am. This will never be normal (skull emoji, love heart eyes emoji, skull emoji).
If that doesn’t brighten your week, we don’t know what will.
