The 18-year-old singer who made the decision early in her career to never show off her body to avoid being sexualised, told Dazed magazine that she was judged when sharing a photo of herself in a bikini on a recent trip to Hawaii.
"I saw comments like, 'How dare she talk about not wanting to be sexualised and wear this?!'" she said.
"There were comments like, 'I don't like her anymore because as soon as she turns 18 she's a whore. Like, dude. I can't win."
How ridiculous! What is a girl meant to wear when they're swimming in Hawaii?!
It comes after Billie herself stripped off into her underwear during an interlude of her concert in Miami, Florida.
“You have opinions about my opinions,” Billie said during the clip.
“About my music, about my clothes, about my body. Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it. Some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me. But I feel you watching, always. And nothing I do goes unseen.
“If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman,” she continued.
“If I shed the layers, I’m a slut. Though you’ve never seen my body, you still judge it, and judge me for it. Why?
“Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”
Maybe it's just time to let her live!
