Billie shared her thoughts on Instagram Story recently where an impersonating fan has been getting mobbed and malls shut down while pretending to be her.
"Please stop doing this shit. It is not safe for you and it is mean to the people who don't know any better. You make me look bad."
The YouTube videos have been garnering millions of views, and it's just becoming a bit too much for the singer to ignore.
In the videos, YouTubers are spotted wearing neon green, loose clothes while heading into the public to trick them into thinking it's Billie. In one, a YouTuber goes to a mall where she actually gets mobbed by hundreds of fans. It's dangerous.
Billie's mother Maggie also defended her daughter against the fakes on Instagram.
"Very mean!" she wrote.
"This is the scummiest!!!! Faking that you are Billie and causing fans to be hurt and upset."
Since Billie called the fakers out, YouTuber Jordan Matter released a statement.
"Hello everyone," he wrote on an Instagram. "You’ve been commenting on the video shoot I did yesterday, and I’d like to respond. I gathered a crowd and had an acrobat pretending to be Billie do a huge cheer flip, which revealed it was not Billie. I had absolutely no intention of disrespecting Billie. I’m a big fan, like everyone else. I’ve never done a celebrity impersonation video before, but they’re pretty common so I thought it would be fun to add my own acrobatic twist. I felt it was completely harmless since at no time in the video are we pretending that she is actually Billie. I have reached out directly to Billie and Maggie and apologised, and I will not post the video without their permission. I hope this clarifies everything."
In true Billie fashion, she ended her rant with a hilarious jab.
"Also sooo disrespectful that you'd go out pretending to be me wearing THIS 😂😂," she wrote, making fun of the YouTuber's outfit.
That's our girl.
