Bella Thorne Drops A HUGE Bombshell About Disney's 'Shake It Up'
Bella Thorne is a completely different person today to what she was when she was on Disney's Shake It Up!.
And we don't mean just physically.
Only last week she revealed that Disney asked her to change her voice for the show and interviews, and now she's admitted that she never even wanted to be a Disney girl.
Bella appeared on an episode of MTV's Happy Sad Confused podcast that she only took the role on Shake It Up! to help her family with their financial issues.
"I didn't want to audition for Shake It Up!. I literally said in my audition, 'I don't sing. I don't dance. I'm basically tone deaf, and I'm not funny. So I don't know why I'm here.'' And everybody just started laughing. They all thought it was a joke."
Ouch, so why didn't she want the role of a lifetime??
"Do you think I wanted to be a Disney girl? Did you think I wanted to do that? We were about to live physically on the street if I didn't have that role. We were living off Stouffer's coupons, and that's all we had to eat every day. That may not sound like a big deal to everybody, but when you're a single mom raising four kids with debt and you have nothibg to your name, it's f***ing sh*tty."
We're really feeling for Bella RN, but as much as anyone would be appreciative of the role on Disney, Bella explained that it was because of it that her career nearly wasn't a success.
"It was really hard to get a job after the show. People didn't want to read me. They didn't want to see me because they were like, 'She's a Disney actress.' So for me, it was like starting back at the bottom and working my way up all the way again."
She has also explained that, no matter how criticised she gets for her social media posts, it's the reason she can afford things now.
"I started out 18 with literally not a cent to my name. [I had] $200 in my bank account when I turned 18. Nothing else. I bought a house this year from social media work, only from social media work. My social media to me is how I pay my bills."
We, for one, were hardly aware of the hardships Bella has dealt with in her life, and all we can say is if we made that much bank for our social media use, we'd be even more annoying online. Sorry 'bout it.
