Bella Hadid has divided the interent after she posted a photo of her living it up on vacay which some fans think show her looking "way too skinny."
The Insta pic — which she captioned "Reflect and recharge" — shows the model lying across the water in some mysterious, picturesque location with her arms up over her head, giving the impression of some pretty defined ribs.
And it wasn't long before all the comments came rolling in, which ranged from genuinely concerned to outright nasty!
"I'm sure you're not starving yourself but you are super skinny and that's not healthy, please take care of yourself."
"Concentration camp???? Eat something!"
"U look sick."
"You are sooooo pretty but this's way too skinny."
"She looks like a skeleton."
"U look totally anorexic....ribs protruding is not attractive....eat a burger & French fries like your sister Gigi!"
WHOA. Are people forgetting this is a 20-year-old?! So damn mean.
Luckily though, she didn't just cop hate. Others came to her defence, with one fan even pointing out that it's just her pose that making her ribs stick out. You can see the difference in this snap where she's sitting upright...
"It's the way she stretched her body guys. The ribs will definitely shows. She has perfect figure!"
"my ribs look like her but I'm not starving/hungry. i eat tacos everyday. don't hate."
"Naturally skinny and actual ill - there is a huuuge difference! Wake up!"
"Bella, it's a guarantee that everyone will make comments towards you. Too fat, too skinny. Don't listen. As long as you are happy that is all that matters."
Well said. Skinny-shaming is no different to fat-shaming, it still hurts. Besides, claiming that someone is suffering from something as serious as anorexia is NEVER ok. As long as she's happy and healthy, that's all that matters.
