23-year-old Sydneysider Melissa Hurwitz has been heralded as ‘Australia’s Selena Gomez’ after winning Pantene’s nation-wide Instagram search for the star of its new advertising campaign.
Melissa follows in Sel’s footsteps as Pantene’s ambassador, with her national campaign rolling out from July, starting in shopping centres across Sydney and Melbourne.
The Selena lookalike said that winning the comp is “a lifelong goal to be in a Pantene campaign, so it really means a lot”.
She also commented on Pantene’s global “Strong Is Beautiful” campaign message, saying that:
“Strong is beautiful. I believe that being strong internally really does show on the outside, and the more you believe in yourself, the stronger you can be. By being kind and courageous, you can achieve a lot.”
Um, that sounds EXACTLY like something Selena would say!
Literally the only difference is that Mel has different talents to Sel.
“I don’t think I’m quite the next Selena Gomez as unfortunately to my dismay I can’t sing or dance,” she added.
Well, she’s got the looks and ace personality to boot, so she’s Selena AF to us!
