It’s hard to imagine how anyone could have anything bad to say about Pia Muehlenbeck.
Not only is she stunningly gorgeous, but she has ample brains to back it up — having worked as a corporate lawyer before scaling her athleisure business, Slinkii, to international success.
Yet it turns out that even Pia, who has 2 million Instagram followers and almost 400,000 YouTube subscribers, isn’t immune to negativity online.
On the latest episode of Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss podcast, the influencer shared how she deals with the occasional hater.
“I think once you have a big audience, you’re always going to have people who want to pick holes in things,” she told hosts Jacqu and Alanah. “But honestly my best advice is block and delete. You just don’t engage.”
Pia added that she’s now so used to dealing with people online that it doesn’t even phase her.
“it’s always been like, you know what, I don’t have time for this,” she said. I’ve got things to do. I’m going to block and delete this and within five seconds I don’t even think about it again.”
She adds that separating her online identity from real life also helps her deal with the criticism.
“I think you have to have a certain level of yourself that’s removed from your social media presence, because nobody in the real world would ever say these things to you.”
At the end of the day, Pia says her priority is keeping her online platforms a safe and positive space.
“The more you like accept the bait and respond and create this thread of drama and hate, the more you breed that in your little community environment,” she said.
Preach it, Pia!
