Famous siblings Maddie and Kenzie Ziegler are the definition of slashies. Not only are they amazing dancers/actors/singers, but they can also add Scent Scientist to their resume. The sisters have teamed up with Impulse to each create a body spray with scents that might surprise you. Maddie’s body spray has the fresh scent of lotus flower and lime, while Kenzie opted for the interesting combo of leather jacket and burnt marshmallow. GF spoke to the girls about their fave scents and how they express themselves every day.
What made you both say yes to becoming Impulse’s Unexpected Scent scientists?
MADDIE: I already collaborated with Impulse last year so when they came to us and said they wanted to a collaboration with me and Kenzie, it was the best feeling ever because I think that we represent everything about Impulse because we’re teenagers that are very free-spirited and we’re really into our scent and so it was really cool that we got to collaborate with Impulse on our own body sprays.
Kenzie, how did you land on the scent of Burnt Marshmallow and Leather Jacket?
KENZIE: I wanted to do something very different and out of the box so I thought it would be cool to do two unexpected scents and I love leather jacket and burnt marshmallow. I thought it would be something different and it also actually smells good which it doesn’t sound like it would but it was so much fun collaborating with Impulse.
What about you Maddie? What inspired Lotus Flower & Lime?
MADDIE: Well for me, I love very sweet scents and I feel like it’s really flirty and girly. Mine was way easier was to find that Kenzie’s was!
This whole campaign is about inspiring teens to trust their impulses and express who they are every day. What’s one thing that you do every day to express yourself?
MADDIE: Being teenagers and having to work (which isn’t a normal teenage thing to do) we’re obviously told to be very proper and put together and to have a good work ethic, which is really important but I think that when we’re not working, it’s important to be really express our true selves and be silly and fun as normal teenagers would so we try our hardest to be with our friends and create new memories and just have as much fun as possible.
You guys are incredibly close – you’re sisters and best friends who sometimes work together. Do you ever butt heads over things?
KENZIE: We used to fight all the time when we were younger but now that we’re older we don’t fight as much. When we work together, we have the most fun and it never really happens that much so we were super excited to get to do this and it was super fun.
MADDIE: Growing up and doing a show together for six years, it does get a lot as we spent every second together but after we came off the show, we shared dancing of course but Kenzie does acting and singing and she really went off with her singing and I took more to acting and I think that when we’re able to come together again, it’s so much better and we can appreciate the time we have working together.
