But the Irish-born influencer is using her platform of over 200,000 followers for something much bigger than just looking pretty.

Appearing on Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss podcast, the 30-year-old opened up about her mission to empower others online.

“Even though I’m a massive beauty and makeup junkie, it’s never really been my number one passion,” Michelle told hosts Jacqui and Alana.

“That’s always been other women and speaking to other women and men in this industry.”

For Michelle, beauty just so happens to be that medium where she can reach and connect with these people.

“Then after they get to know you through that, it becomes a different kind of relationship.”

A major part of empowering her followers is showing her true self online.

Reading “I don’t do the Instagram theme thing. Real life isn’t uniform and neither am I” you only need to look at her Instagram bio to see her authentic nature shine through.

“I think in this day and age in, we see the Instagram Hollywood reel of everyone’s life and we’re all pretending that everything’s perfect and it’s not,” she explained.

“If anything, there’s more people now who are depressed than ever and more people struggling with comparing themselves to people on social media and magazines.”

It’s something that Michelle has battled with herself from a young age.

“I had a really hard time with depression growing up when I was a teenager,” she shared.

Michelle revealed that she does still struggle with her mental health, which can affect her work — but she uses this to connect with her audience.

“I’m not going to be the most consistent or out there YouTuber or because I do have these struggles behind closed doors,” she said.

“But one thing I can guarantee you is that I’m always there and always going to be real and I’m never going to pretend that life is great and I’m just not posting it. And you know if you’re going through this too, if you haven’t made it to work this week, if you’re going through something, if you’ve lost a family member, that’s cool. You just have to try your best.”
