While most us were busy fawning over the never-before-seen wedding snap used for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first Christmas card, an eagle eyed pundit has highlighted a slightly awkward detail about the image.
Twitter user @annasabreze has pointed out that the romantic, black and white shot of the pair watching the fireworks at their wedding reception bears an uncanny resemblance to the former Suits star’s first wedding invitation. The latter features the 37-year-old and her first husband, Trevor Engelson, photographed from behind in a black and white hue as they too look over a body of water.
Unsurprisingly, haters have taken the opportunity to jump on the Meghan bashing bandwagon.
“The similarity between Meghan’s wedding invite with Trevor and the Christmas card with Harry is spooky,” one commenter wrote. “To do the same idea with each husband is so weird to say the least.”
“Maybe she is indicating that this marriage will end the same way as her last marriage,” another wrote.
This isn't the only issue that some have taken with the Christmas card – Markle's estranged half-sister Samantha claims that the image is symbolises how the new royal has turned her back on her family.
"Interesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their backs turned. Is this towards the world or just the Ragland and Markle family? It's a bit sad. Face the Christmas spirit,” Samantha Markle tweeted through her private account.
But let's be honest, the only "message" we can take away from this situation is that some people have too much time on their hands.
